Lady Tigra - “BOTB” (Joe Hahn remix)
Posted by
Energy on 22 Jun 2007 12:36 am
Ok so it's late and came across this (and then found that lprussia had posted about it) but
check this out.
Following Tim Biskup’s lead in LA, STASH has taken over the NYC component of HELIO’s street marketing campaign by creating a signature mural for the cell phone company in the East Village at the corner of 6th street & 2nd Avenue. Check out this just-released time-lapse of the mural’s first stage of installation, which was pulled off with a little help from KAVES of LORDZ OF BROOKLYN fame. For those with an ear for the old school, the soundtrack is “BOTB” by LADY TIGRA, freshly remixed by Supertouch buddy Joe Hahn of Linkin Park & appearing for the first time in this video…Visit the page to see the video and to check out Joe's mix.

Hey all, for the redesign - that is approaching fast - we've got a few things that we're working on. I'm working on the comments at the moment, and at this current time they're open once again for the public. So feel free to post your comments.
I know the new captcha isn't as fun as the old one, or at the current moment not as pretty - however you'll see how everything works once the redesign is up. I'm going back to coding now. The redesign is so close now, at least design wise - I'm just working on a new lil feature that I'll tell you about. Now it's going to be really easy to submit news to the site. There'll be a box that you can type your news and press send - and it sends all the news posters a copy of your news. However to stop spam I think I may have to make it so it sends you an email which you have to click confirm in. Does that defy the point of the form?
Either way it's almost done!

BREAKING NEWS: Heineken Jammin' Festival accident
Posted by
Jaxxy on 15 Jun 2007 06:41 pm
Just got an alert:
Music fans have been injured at the Heineken festival in Italy after a lighting and sound system collapsed. I think LP were due to play today. The festival has been suspended for today and tomorrow but may continue on Sunday.
Read more here.Several people have been taken to hospital but no fatalities have been reported. Let's hope all the people injured aren't too badly hurt and get better soon.
I'll post again if I hear anything else.
EDIT: linkinpark.com said this:
"LP have issued the following statement: “We are saddened by the events that happened in Venice today and our hearts are with the injured fans and their families. The Linkin Park family wishes them a speedy recovery and hope to see them the next time we visit Italy.”"

Kerrang Review of LP at Download
Posted by
Jaxxy on 14 Jun 2007 06:58 pm
Just thought I would type the Kerrang! review of LP at Download:
"Though he [Marilyn Manson] draws the biggest crowd of the day, it's surprising how many people stick around for headliners LINKIN PARK (KKK). Once daylight disappears, the flashy visuals on a giant screen at the back of the stage at least provide some kind of focal point for Chester Bennington's crew, but it's baffling that their show - as slick, functional and characterless as their music - gets such a rapturous reception. 'Crawling', and 'One Step Closer' might be perfect examples of studio-crafted songwriting, while the one true moment of pop-metal genius comes with the bruising finale 'Faint', but despite boasting a crowd that sing along, clap, cheer and 'woo!' from beginning to end, there's something astonishingly neutral and unaffecting about this Saturday night send-off"
The guy says LP got a rapturous reception...So the important people enjoyed it - the fans! I certainly had a good time and thought it was better than their performance at Download 2004.
What do you guys think? Were you there? (were you watching...) Post your comments... (you can't post your comments at the moment, but you'll be able to at the weekend... - Energy)
Download Festival Show on Channel 4
Posted by
Energy on 14 Jun 2007 12:22 am
As per usual Download Festival put a highlight show on shortly after the event. This is usually two 30 min shows containing tracks and interviews with the artisits, however this year the show seems to be 1 straight hour. This is bound to include a bit of LP info.
The show is on at 01:20am on Saturday night (so early sunday morning then!). Kerrang's website says there is one on sunday night, but channel 4's tv listings seem to say otherwise. So it's worth checking sunday night too...
Oh and yeah the site looks a bit weird, we're preparing for the new and improved lpfuse. Hopefully out this weekend... it's looking quite nice :) So sorry if things are a bit strange between now and then.

Just in case any of you were wondering why LP are playing the Japan leg of the Live Earth shows
check out this article from MTV. A nice article, I thought, where Phoenix talks about being compared to U2 and also Music For Relief. Worth a read!

Oh and LP stayed at number 2 in the UK album charts on Sunday...I believe when Meteora was released it went in at number 1 then dropped rapidly down so MTM is doing well! Keep buying!
November Tour Dates

Energy on 02 Jun 2007 02:13 am
As this french page says (thanks lolo) LP is performing in paris in November 07. It also mentions a March date in 2008.
Well we can *finally* tell you this, it's currently looking like there will be around 30 european shows starting in November. The tour is likely to start in the uk with multiple shows and then spread out. The shows will be arena sized.
So if you're missing download as it looks like I am :( then you've not got too long to wait for another chance to check LP out!

LP Headline Live Earth Tokyo
Posted by
Jaxxy on 27 May 2007 08:28 am
Linkin Park will headline the Tokyo leg of the 24 hour music marathon that is Live Earth! Concerts will be happening on 7 continents all day on July 7th, starting in Sydney, Australia and ending in New York, US. Live Earth founder Kevin Wall says:
"The goal of Live Earth is to reach the largest audience possible with tools to tackle the climate crisis, Linkin Park's participation is an incredible boost to these efforts, and we hope their millions of fans worldwide will tune in to Live Earth on 7/7/7 and join our movement."
Live Earth is the beginning of a campaign led by the Alliance for Climate Protection to move people to take action against global warming, an issue we know is close to Linkin Park's heart. If you get the chance to go to the Tokyo show, or indeed any show anywhere, you're very lucky and a part of something huge!
Have an awesome time if you get to go and take lots of pictures!!

Thank You from Brad - LP

Posted by Brad himself on the LPU News Page:
I can only hope to convey the gratitude we feel. The dedication of our entire fanbase has given us the confidence to take risks and continually challenge ourselves as musicians throughout our career.
Minutes to Midnight was just that: a huge risk. In making this album, we strived as a band to rediscover the reasons for starting up in the first place: experimentation, imagination, and fun. We went on an incredible journey and wound up in an incredibly exciting place.
Thank you all for your tremendous support. I hope that you connect with this album as deeply as we do.

Minutes To Midnight debuts at number 1 this week on the UK album chart!! (knocked the Arctic Monkeys off the top!)
Congrats to LP and good job everyone for buying it!

Let's hope it stays there for awhile!
Album Chart. And What I've Done is at number 12 in the singles chart this week. Considering last weeks number 1 single dropped 19 places I think a drop of 6 for LP is not too bad right?!
Singles Chart.p.s. If you're reading this before 7pm GMT, the charts probably won't have been updated yet!
