Just a quick news round up for you! Unfortunately Energy is very busy working hard on his dissertation at University and I'm working hard in the real world making sure your water is safe, so neither of us have had an opportunity to post some of the little news events that have been going on in the world of LP! So here they are!

Leave Out All the Rest (in space)

Bec hits us up with this document about the new LP video. I think bec and I are half expecting this to be an april fools. Click the read more for the full article...
When it comes to epic music videos, no one does it quite like the dudes from Linkin Park. And the forthcoming clip for "Leave Out All the Rest," the latest single from the band's 2007 LP Minutes to Midnight, will be no different.
Linkin Park spent last weekend standing in front of a green screen in a warehouse in Van Nuys, California, shooting the video directed by the band's DJ, Joseph Hahn, who also came up with the video's treatment. The clip depicts a day in the life of Linkin Park — that is, if they all lived in a futuristic flight vessel, floating somewhere in outer space. Source[exclusive preview] (joke)
The past few LP videos haven't really got the fans going, is this one going down a similar path?

Ads or No Ads
Posted by
Energy on 06 Mar 2008 01:53 am
Hey all, I've been re-evaluating the google ads, and while they once helped the site run, they're of little benefit anymore. This is a pain for me, especially next year when this could cause some serious issues with me paying for the upkeep of the site. It should be fine though...
So as of tonight the google ads have gone. As its replacement for a short while we've put up an advert for a comp that the people behind LP's website have asked us to run (something that we rarely do). It seems that you have to sign up to a random website, however the prize is pretty cool... a trip to the UK to see LP & JZ strut their stuff in Milton Keynes. So could be worth it...
As for that show we keep babbling on about, we'll be holding some kind of LPFuse event at the show (unofficially), and we'd love to meet as many of you as possible. Even looks like the staff will be wearing LPFuse tshirts. If we meet up, what would you guys like to do?
:)
SOB to join the Revolution?

With their upcoming album due for release in the next few months, I think there is a good chance that S O B will join their label mates Linkin Park for the P.R. shows in Europe. It'd make sense, and gives Mike more of a chance to promote them and bring some more hip hop back to the LP setlists by performing some of the old Fort Minor routine.
What do you all think? Is this a good thing? Would you rather Jurassic 5, The Roots and Pharoah Monche joined them? Who would you like to see in Europe supporting Linkin Park?
Also, if Jay-Z is playing with Linkin Park, will they repeat a performance of Umbrella? After all, that was Rhianna and Jay-Z, and Mike's learning the parts.

New Joe Hahn Short on Itunes / MK Press Release & Kerrang Info
Posted by
Energy on 05 Mar 2008 12:19 am
On the latest Itunes newsletter, aswell as mentioning the new
LP Live @ SoHo EP, they also mention two new upcoming Itunes items: the Given Up Video, and 'the release of an exclusive independent short film from the band's Mr. Hahn'. Could this be 'the seed'?
Also attached to this post is the press release for the first UK Projekt Rev MK Show (a PR UK MK show heheh :)). Included in this are a few new snippets like, JayZ will be doing a full set, and the contact details for getting your tickets. Remember the LPU presale starts tomorrow morning!
The other MK news is that
Kerrang are sponsoring the gig, I will laugh if suddenly a LP gig gets a 5 star rating (although they did give Collision Course the album a really good review, strange for a rock mag).
Tomorrow's issue of the mag will have the low-down on the gig, including the great quote from LP of: "Nothing makes us more excited than grid systems and Concrete Cows!", which will hit home with anyone who's visited Milton Keynes before...
Europe receives Projekt Revolution

Jon on 04 Mar 2008 08:16 am
The latest LP Newsletter not only confirms that LP are playing the Milton Keynes bowl, but that they are playing with Jay-Z.
To add to this, they've called their Europe tour, and this date, Projekt Revolution, with HIM and more bands to be announced.

Energy - Is it just me or were we one step ahead of them? This is going to be an amazing show. MKBowl is an open air arena, and it literally is a whole in the ground. Circular venue with lots of vantage points for seeing. Some people love it (me), others hate it (Jaxxy), but it will be perfect for a PR Gig I'm sure.

It's very stylised, I love it. However it's caused some fans to really hate it. What do you think?

MK minor update

Energy on 03 Mar 2008 03:50 pm
For the UK readers. Our little spy was hunting for some info about the rumoured Milton Keynes Bowl, UK date and basically got a reply of:
"How the hell do you know about that? Nope nothing is planned"
Two very contradictory statements there. So decide what you want.
The venue is also having a lot of work done on it at the current time to improve it over the next few months.
Also I like what reader qwerty pointed out in the comments "Isn't JZ headling Glastonbury the day before?". If this MK bowl date turns out to be true, and JZ makes an appearance this could be one hell of a concert.
Lets continue to wait it out, as this may all be nothing.

Here's an interesting article Energy asked me to put up. In it Mike and Chester talk about writing music and their current tour in the US. They also make some interesting/funny/disturbing comments about Joe's clothes on stage! Has anyone been to one of these shows? What was Joe wearing?! Leave a comment!!

Mike Shinoda, Dave "Pheonix" Farrell, Joe Hahn and Chester Bennington of the band Linkin Park used hammers to nail frames together as they worked with Music for Relief and Habitat for Humanity while rebuilding homes affected by Hurricane Katrina today in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Source and photos.
Credit to Cheryl for throwing that my way, and whichever other site may have posted about it.
Whilst I give kudos to LP/Music For Relief for the charity work in progress, part of me thinks they could do less advertising for it whilst they're at it, and just work. I can't help but feel they're just doing promoting
European Tour Dates

Energy on 25 Feb 2008 08:06 pm
Linkin Park has put out a bulletin on Linkin Park's myspace.
Linkin Park will be performing at these Europe tour dates in June:
June 5 - Skive Beach Party '08, Skive, Denmark - Tickets
June 14 - Hultsfred Festival, Hultsfred, Sweden - Tickets
June 15 - Greenfield Festival, Interlaken, Switzerland - Tickets
Get your tickets now. Look out for more European tour dates soon.
Thanks to Sean (HybridMeteora) for giving me the heads up...
A rumored date that has started being thrown around is:
Linkin Park - Sun 29 June 2008, Milton Keynes National Bowl
Which would be amazing as it's 20 minutes from my house. I'm trying to confirm this date and I already have my spy looking for confirmation. Thanks Bec for the news of that date.
Do not try and buy tickets for these shows yet, as the only companies that are already selling them are dodgy sites which will take your money and run.

CDON.com have a tracklisting up for the given up single. Once again we're treated to two lives as the bsides. Very dissapointing, but they should be good lives at least... if you haven't already got them.

Given Up Single Info Clear Up
Posted by
Energy on 19 Feb 2008 12:12 am
Ok guys, I know
hmv has the tracklist of the given up single as:
7'' Red Etched Vinyl
* 1. Given Up
* 2. Etched Logo
This does not mean there is a track called 'Etched Logo' coming out. I know LPtimes says otherwise, but this is a misunderstanding on their part. All it means is that the logo is pressed into side b of the vinyl. The LP logo will be printed on the vinyl, and the vinyl will be red. This is just how the other LP vinyls have been picture discs, instead this means that the vinyl may not have a b side, just a pressed in image on the bside.
As of yet I've heard no bside info about the single, if I do I'll let you know.
I'm hoping, like you guys, that we may get a studio track for a bside. The fact we've not heard about any bsides is a good sign. However if the bside is called 'Etched Logo' I will eat my hat!
(oh and the single should come out 3rd March!)
