Show Cancelled in Sweden
Posted by
Energy on 14 Jun 2008 11:26 pm
Mike's posted this message on his blog regarding the unfortunate cancellation of the show in Sweden.
to all the swedish fans: we are extremely sorry about the cancellation of the show tonight. we all sincerely wanted to come and play for you, but our boy brad is sick. this afternoon, the doctor ordered that brad not travel, so the show became an impossibility. we were obviously very disappointed and frustrated. we rarely cancel, and i know this is the second time we’ve had to cancel playing there. the band feels very bad about this uncontrollable situation, and hope to make it up to you as soon as we can…
Hope he gets better soon!
Update: This also includes Switzerland's show too. Check LP.com for further updates on upcoming shows. However it sounds as if Brad just needs to rest for a few days. Can you blame him? They're a busy bunch of guys.
Jay-Z Tickets failing to sell
Posted by
Energy on 06 Jun 2008 03:21 pm
MTV released a short article, pointing out that Jay-Z is failing to atract any interest from the UK public. It mentions that currently their are 40,000 tickets sold for the LPJZ MK Bowl, when it's a 75,000 person venue.
The rapper may be surprised to discover that there are still plenty of tickets still for sale…
Jay-Z may want to halt his up-coming parties in celebration of his forthcoming tour due to the fact that the British public aren’t snapping up his tickets.
All of the 7 x Grammy award winner’s UK dates have yet to sell out.
Not only has the Hip-Hop star been widely blamed for Glastonbury festivals poor ticket sales but he now might have to contend with the fact that his Projekt Revolution co-headline set with Linkin Park may barely fill half of the venue.
The gig will be held later this month at the Milton Keynes Bowl, which has a capacity of 75,000, but only 40,000 have been sold so far, leaving the promoters slightly worried.
There are also plenty of tickets for his gig at London’s 02 Wireless Festival on July 3.
Despite the lack of sales, we’re still looking forward to having him over here!SourceI have to say people, if you're a Linkin Park fan and you haven't got a ticket for this event yet, you really do need to pick one up. It's looking like it's going to be amazing. Most the LPFuse staff will be there and we're always wanting to meet up with other fans! We'll open a special meet up email account soon!
Update: as a few have pointed out, it seems that the MK Bowl can actually only hold 65,000 so mtv got it wrong, and 40,000 is pretty respectable (with that number bound to go up!)
Spoof: Linkin Park singer to receive Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording
Posted by

Really random I know. This site seems to be an almost cheap version of the Onion. I thought some might get a laugh out of their recent report.
Do you think they had seen this before? If popular rumours are to be believed, Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington may soon be on his way to receive his first ever Grammy for the 'Best Opera Recording' category.
Elton John, who will be giving away the awards, said, 'I think they chose Chester because...ah, well, you can see he has the traditional Operatic voice. It is just so deep and flamboyant. I think it fits the bill perfectly, and more. I can see well why they chose him.'Click Read more to see the whole article, or

Busta Rhymes @ Projekt Rev, innerpartysystem joining the MK line up

innerpartysystem has been added to the already pretty full LPJZ event at the Milton Keynes Bowl. This is set to be an amazing day already, and checking out innerpartysystem's music on myspace they're a welcome adition to the line up. So check them out!
Also for those who didn't cotton last week, and I have to admit that we forgot to post the news (this is probably down to me just finishing my degree and getting a new job!) Busta Rhymes has been officially confirmed to be on the US Projekt Revolution line up. Expect to be hearing Busta's & Linkin Park's 'We Made It' performed live a few times.
Thanks to Bec for the heads up on innerpartysystem, and >>In The End<< for pestering me about not putting up Busta Rhymes.
A Holly update

Firstly, there is this video of Holly's new videoblog type thing and a sample of a new song she's recording (sounds great) located on this link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUxikw27FPM.
Secondly, her MySpace profile has been updated and she's still after some wonderful diaoramas (I nearly always write diahorrea first and then think "no, that's not what she wants"). You can see that at
Myspace.com/HollyBrook.
Thirdly, everyone leave millions of comments stating how much you love her.
Thanks
Jon

Secret LP show

Energy on 30 May 2008 12:08 pm
Lloyd & LPLive give some great info on a very small intimate show that was recently performed in LP's rehersal space. It was also a very interesting setlist, and one attende claims to have managed to get hold of a setlist for the european tour with No Roads Left listed as an Encore... who knows... this is what LP Live says about the show...
Linkin Park Live Guide - 29.05.2008
Burbank, California
LP Rehearsal Space
29th May 2008
Setlist:
01. Wake
02. Given Up
03. Lying From You
04. Leave Out All The Rest
05. We Made It
Show Notes:
- 'Fell On Black Days' was supposed to be performed by Chester and Chris Cornell after 'Leave Out All The Rest', but never happened for some reason.
- 'Wake' was listed as 'Wake 2.0', and was a brand new version of the song.
- 'Lying From You' was performed with a new intro.
- Busta Rhymes joined the band for 'We Made It'.
Other Notes:
- This was a "Secret Show", and was by invitation only. The location of the show was the band's rehearsal spot. Mike said that this was the first time ever that any fans had ever been let into the band's rehearsal studio. One member reports one entire wall inside being lined with Brad's guitars.
- The show was filmed for LPTV and pictures will be on the LPU soon.
- Only 14 LPUnderground members were in attendance for the show. They were blindfolded and taken from the Warner Bros HQ in Burbank to Third Encore.
- It was announced that Busta Rhymes would join LP on the Projekt Revolution tour
- Chris Cornell and Atreyu were in attendance. This possibly hints that Chester will join Chris Cornell for a song during his set on Projekt Revolution 2008.
- One member snagged a setlist titled 'Setlist Y' from the European Tour that is coming up, and in the encore is 'No Roads Left'. 'A Place For My Head' is also included.

Holly's UK Tour cancelled

Well, I'm pretty bummed to read in Holly's blog on her MySpace that the UK tour is cancelled, as I'm sure Energy will be also. One of the few shows I was planning to follow to all destinations...
Just a heads up to those of you who were hoping to go.
Holly Brook teams up with Duncan Sheik

I was looking around on Playbill News and saw that Holly's been doing some more work with Duncan recently. Some of you may remember her blogging about this on her MySpace, but for more information and the full article, click
Here or 'read more' below.
"The reading will feature Robin Weigert (Broadway's Noises Off, HBO's "Deadwood"), Matthew Gumley, Arthur Acuña, Dan Bittner and an actor to be named. Playing the ghosts (who are also the lead singers and musicians) are popular indie rockers David Poe and Holly Brook."
New Holly song
Posted by
Jon on 03 May 2008 10:37 pm
If you check out
Steven Sater's MySpace, there is a song called Song For The Angels, written by Steven and sung/performed by Holly.
Credit to the mamadukes of hazards, CandyK
Edit:
Steven Sater says:
"that recording was from a few years ago. actually, i met holly through the composer of that tune, brian byrne (i wrote the lyrics). some time later, quite independently, duncan met her. and then she and i finally met in person."CandyK says:
It was recorded 3 or 4 yrs ago, while Holly was negotiating a deal with MS.
Brian Byrne did the piano and music, Steven Sater the lyrics. She did a couple more but by the time there were more to record, she was signed so no more was done.
SO . . . she actually knew Steven Sater's lyric work before she got involved with Duncan and his Spring Awakening tour stuff. But of course, she's been a fan of Duncan for years.
